That's the suggestion from Sen. Bob Casey.
Many hotels in the nation's capital are already booked up for President-elect Barack Obama's Jan. 20th swearing-in ceremony.
And the rooms that are available are often going for hundreds of dollars or more.
Casey has sent a letter to his Senate colleagues with the Pennsylvania hotel tip.
The Democrat has even attached a list of hotels.
Casey notes parts of his home state are only a 90-minute drive from D.C.
