NYC to AC rail service to begin Feb. 6

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - December 17, 2008 Atlantic City Express Service, or ACES, will begin weekend service on Feb. 6.

Bi-level rail cars will leave New York's Penn Station, stop in Newark and then head to the gaming resort. The ticket includes shuttle service to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Caesars Atlantic City and Harrah's Resort.

One-way fares for the 2-hour trip are $50 for coach and $75 for first-class.

NJ Transit cars will be outfitted with leather seats, a private lounge, and food and beverage kiosks. First-class passengers will receive food and beverage service.

Previous rail service, Amtrak's "Gamblers Express," ran for about six years and failed to turn a profit.
