Gomez escaped on Dec. 8. He had been arrested a day earlier on auto theft charges and was taken to headquarters after telling investigators he had information about a homicide.
Lt. Frank Vanore says Gomez stacked chairs in an interview room, made a hole in the ceiling, climbed through the air ductwork and got away.
He wasn't handcuffed at the time.
Police say Gomez now faces additional charges of criminal mischief, vandalism and escape, a third-degree felony.
