Medford man gets 40 years for 2005 murder

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. (AP) - December 19, 2008 Thirty-three-year-old Alex Crow of Medford must serve a minimum of 34 years before becoming eligible for parole under the sentence imposed Friday by Superior Court Judge Patricia LeBon.

Crow pleaded guilty in October to a murder charge in the death of 52-year-old Marianne DeMartin.

Prosecutors say Crow stole her car after killing her and dumped her body 120 miles away in Schuylkill County, Pa.

The car was found five days after the murder in Voorhees, but DeMartin's skeletal remains were not identified for more than two years.

Crow was arrested in April 2008, tied to the crime by DNA evidence found in DeMartin's car.
