Man shot in the face in Wilmington

A man shot in the face Friday in Wilmington was taken into surgery, and his injuries are thought to be non-life threatening.The shooting happened at about 1:18 p.m. in the 2300 block of North Pine Street.

Police say the victim, a 40-year-old man, was washing a car when someone opened fire.

Multiple shots were fired, and the victim was struck once in the face.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Police have no description of the suspect at this time.
