The ordeal began around 3:00 Saturday morning, at 2nd and Huntington Streets in Kensington.
A Philadelphia Police officer pulled over a man. When the officer went to question him, the driver allegedly got out of the car and started fighting the officer.
Investigators say the officer then pulled out a taser gun and tasered the driver. Despite that, the suspect reportedly managed to wrestle the taser from the officer. He allegedly tried to taser the officer, but the taser didn't shoot.
The officer then pulled out his gun and shot the man in the hip, according to police.
The motorist is recuperating at Temple Hospital. Charges are pending.
The officer was treated and released from Jeanes Hospital. The officer is on desk duty until an internal investigation is completed.
