EXCLUSIVE: Backstage with Push Play

August 2009 The Oxford Valley Mall was recently taken over by the Simon dLive Tour.

For 7 years, the Simon dLive Tour has been bringing entertainment to malls across the nation and this year it stopped in Oxford Valley.

6abc.com was on hand to meet up with the headliners of the show, Push Play.

CJ Baran on vocals and guitar, Derek Ries on drums, Nick Deturris on Bass, and Steve Scarola on vocals and guitar, make up the group that is causing crazed cheers from teenage girls around the country, including in this area.

The four guys were nice enough to sit down and step out of the heat for a few minutes to talk candidly about their growing popularity, life on the road, being chased, and even the Lion King. (It gets even weirder than that!)

In Part 1, the guys talk about the formation of the group, the infamous alternate name, what was it like playing at the Nokia Theater in New York, and they even have some fun with vocabulary, for all those beginning school soon. Watch Part 1.

In Part 2, things get a little bit zany. Based on their Twitter accounts, the guys must answer questions about their latest tweets. Plus, 6abc.com has some ideas on how they can continue the success of their hit song Midnight Romeo. Then, Push Play is in the hot seat as they experience 6abc.com's Word Association! Watch Part 2.

Push Play then allowed 6abc.com cameras to capture an exclusive acoustic rendition of their hit song "Midnight Romeo." Check it out!

You can purchase Push Play's song "Midnight Romeo" now on iTunes. Their debut album "Found" will be released on September 29.
