Reading teen sentenced in murder case

READING, Pa. - August 23, 2009 Seventeen-year-old Tiona Marshall of Reading pleaded guilty to robbery in the February 2008 death of 19-year-old Devon Lonon and to conspiracy in the unrelated robbery of a pizza deliveryman a few days earlier.

Marshall was 16 at the time but was charged as an adult with first-degree murder. But prosecutors reduced the charge, citing her cooperation in last month's trial that led to the first-degree murder conviction of 21-year-old David White. Prosecutors say White, who is awaiting sentencing, and Lonon headed rival factions of a street gang.

Marshall told the judge Friday that she understands the mistakes she made and that she feels sorry for Lonon's family.
