Police say the driver of the car did stop at the scene.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.

NEW CASTLE, Del. - September 2, 2009 At approximately 9:30 Troopers and emergency personnel were called for a fatal pedestrian related crash on Route 13 southbound, just south of Memorial Drive in New Castle.
