Medical waste washes up on Jersey beaches

Trash containing medical waste washed up along part of the New Jersey coast for the second time... in less than a week. But, no beaches were closed as a result. Ocean County Health Department officials say six syringes were found early Friday between two beaches in Toms River.

Seven syringes were also discovered at Island Beach State Park in nearby Berkeley.

Officials say the items appear to have come from household trash and may have been churned up by recent coastal storms.
