Driver to testify in Del. cop killing

GEORGETOWN, Del. - September 23, 2009 The public defender's office is asking for the appointment of an attorney to represent /*Christopher Reeves*/ because it is already representing /*Derrick Powell*/, the man accused of shooting Patrolman /*Chad Spicer*/. Another officer was struck in the neck by a bullet fragment.

Twenty-two-year-old Powell of Cumberland, Md., is charged with first-degree murder and other offenses. Twenty-year-old Reeves of Lincoln, faces two counts of probation violation and other offenses.

Authorities say a third man in the car who tried to help Spicer was questioned and released.
