Attempted murder suspect charged with rape

WILMINGTON, Del. - October 6, 2009 Charleston S. Williams, 40, of the 300 block of South Claymont Street was arrested over the weekend on an attempted murder charge after he allegedly stabbed a man in Harrington.

After his arrest, he was also charged with the August 21st rape. It happened around 4:40 a.m. That's when, police say, Williams entered the victim's apartment in the 2100 block of North Claymont Street and said "you owe me something."

Then, police say, he choked and sexually assulted her.

Williams' bail was set at $21,000 and he was transported to the Delaware Department of Corrections.
