Police say the 13-year-old boy who attends Central Middle School was charged Monday with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and three other felonies. He is not being identified because of his age.
Court records state that when a school resource officer patted down the student, he found a bag with six rounds of ammunition, but no gun. Later, the officer was called back when the teacher found a gun near the spot where the student was patted down.
The arrest came five days after a Dover High School student was charged with taking a kitchen knife to school in her backpack.
Both students have been suspended and face expulsion.
