The shooting happened at the intersection of Chester and Frazier Streets at around 12:30 p.m.
The man was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with at least one gunshot wound to the chest.
He was pronounced dead about a half hour later.
No word on any arrests at this time.
