The fire broke out just before noon Saturday in a lab building in the Honeywell Corporation building located on the 6100 block of Philadelphia Pike.
It took crews over an hour to get the fire under control and it will take several more hours to mitigate the hazardous material.
Over a half dozen fire departments in Delaware and Delaware County helped to extinguish the fire.
There were no injuries reported.
