On their arrival, officers found the victim, a 23-year-old Wilmington man, on the front porch of a residence, unconscious and without a pulse.
Officers immediately began CPR on the victim. The victim was subsequently pronounced dead by medical personnel. It appeared the victim had suffered gunshot wounds to his back.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family. At this time there is no suspect information. The investigation is continuing.
