Police say the girls discovered the bodies of a man and a woman Saturday evening in an apartment in Reading, about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
Both victims were dead of apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators have not released their names.
Police say the girls, ages 9 and 11, are relatives of the dead woman. They discovered the bodies and alerted their mother, who called police.
Autopsies are scheduled for Sunday evening.
