Investigators say the shooting happened on Thursday morning at about 1:00 at the Marriott Residence Inn at the airport along the 4600 block of Island Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.
Police say someone opened fire on the 28-year-old vicitm as he stood in the hotel's parking lot.
The wounded man slumped to the ground and died near a vehicle that had its trunk opened.
The name of the man killed has not been released.
