Following a bond hearing Monday, 30-year-old Thomas Leggs Jr. of Salisbury was returned to the Wicomico County Detention Center.
A preliminary court hearing on charges of kidnapping and burglary is set for Jan. 21.
Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis said Leggs also will face additional charges.
Investigators alleged that Leggs kidnapped Sarah Haley Foxwell from her Salisbury home last Tuesday. Her body was found on Christmas Day near the Delaware-Maryland border after a massive search that included more than 3,000 volunteers.
