The work will get under way in the fall. The minor league baseball team will repay the $3.25 million loan, under the agreement approved Monday by city council.
The work includes a new main entrance through an expanded concession area along right field, upgraded field lights, a padded outfield wall, renovated locker rooms and a 450-space parking lot.
The city will kick in $1.75 million from its capital improvement budget, and the state will add $5 million.
