And the savviest of the romantic diners will save 10% on their meals with this -- the new Chestnut Hill Shop Local card.
"Just show us the card and we comp off 10% of the check," Anderson explains.
The discount cards were the brainchild of the Chestnut Hill Business Association.
Neighborhood school groups are selling them as a fund-raiser, and they're also available at the 25 participating businesses, for $10 each.
"You can get at 10% discount at all the stores that are featured on this for a period of a full year," explains Fran O'Donnell, owner of O'Doodles Toy Store and the Business Association's Main Street Manager. "So it's a great value. For $10, you can probably pay for it in one shopping trip to The Hill. "
The cards can be used for 10% off your purchases again and again, until December first. The hope is that people will stay in Chestnut Hill to shop, dine and more. Participating merchants include pet shops, spas, florists and more.
"You can come in, shop for jewelry, shop for whatever you need to get in Chestnut Hill and come back down here and have a nice lunch or dinner," Anderson says.
"We are a destination, whether you're going to the Morris Arboretum or whether you're going to the restaurants," O'Donnell adds. "And we have the shops as well. We'd like to think you can make a day here in Chestnut Hill."
