Officials: Largest NJ marijuana operation uncovered

MONROE TWP., N.J. - March 10, 2010

Attorney General Paula Dow announced this morning, three arrests and the confiscation of more than $10-million worth of marijuana.

The operation began in February, when an officer smelled burning marijuana coming from a home in Monroe Township.

The officer found more than a thousand pot plants inside the home.

This finding led authorities to five other rented homes in Millstone, Old Bridge, Manahawkin and Manalpan.

Police seized more than 3,300 growing plants, 115 pounds of harvested marijuana, and $65,000 in cash.

Three people are facing serious drug charges and arrest warrants have been issued for three other individuals.
