Playground for disabled calls for volunteers

HAVERFORD TWP., Pa. - April 20, 2010

He spent time Tuesday doing what he knows best: Helping out.

Dave volunteered to help with construction of a playground in Haverford Township. Once it's done here at Park View Drive and Darby Road, the playground will be a place where disabled children and other kids can play.

Ann Phillips, who is overseeing the project, says they need more volunteers: "We need both skilled and unskilled volunteers, so we need people to move lumber around. We need people to check in volunteers and serve food. We also need skilled workers who can use a hand saw and a router and get the work done for us."
