Police say gunfire rang out around midnight in the 3100 block of Croskey Street striking a man in his 20's numerous times.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Temple University Hospital where he is stable.
The suspect was found badly beaten in the 4000 block of Germantown Avenue and was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police are investigating whether the beating is related to the shooting.
He faces numerous charges.
