Guilty plea in '09 Wilmington murder

WILMINGTON - August 24, 2010

Pernell Stroman of Wilmington pleaded guilty Tuesday to first-degree murder in the slaying of 23-year-old Julie Gricol. He faces life in prison at sentencing in November.

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden said in a statement that Gricol was taken "senselessly and brutally" from her family.

She was found by friends on June 11, 2009, in the bed of her apartment.

After Stroman was arrested driving Gricol's car, he wrote a letter to Gricol's family admitting he had killed her.
