2 firefighters save Del. woman's life

WILMINGTON, Del. - September 6, 2010

Mill Creek firefighters Aaron Olicker and Paul Strochine responded to the fire at a Pinecrest home on Saturday. After entering the home the 11-year firefighting veterans found Maureen Nardo collapsed between the kitchen and dining room and dragged her to safety.

Nardo, a Stanton resident, suffered burns over 20 percent of her body and was later listed in critical but stable condition at a hospital. Nardo was staying at the house, her sister's former home, to help clean it out so it could be put up for sale.

The state fire marshall is investigating the cause of the blaze.
