At around 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Philadelphia police were called out to the intersection of Herbert and Horrock streets.
According to authorities, the boy was riding his bicycle when he was hit by a vehicle.
The 10-year-old was transported to St. Christopher's Hospital in critical condition.
Police say that the vehicle fled the scene. It is described as a black Dodge Charger.
This comes a day after a 2-year-old was fatally struck and his mother was injured by in a hit and run in South Philadelphia. Police are still searching for the driver of that vehicle.
