Four hurt in apparent road rage incident

NEW CASTLE, Del. - October 11, 2010

It happened Saturday about 12:50 a.m. on Route 273 in New Castle. Troopers say a man saw another man driving a small gray SUV alongside his shooting a pellet gun at his vehicle.

The two vehicles stopped and the suspect began punching a passenger in the second car. The suspect grabbed his shirt, backed up his car and dragged the passenger.

The other driver and the passenger, who were trying to help, were hit by the SUV, which also struck the vehicle.

The suspect fled. The driver and his three passengers were treated and released at Christiana Hospital.
