The California city's Christmas tree was scraped last year because of budgets cuts.
City mechanic Robert Jensen didn't want to see Fresno go treeless again.
So, he organized a group of volunteers to raise the tree at Fresno City Hall.
Over the weekend, they drove to the mountains to cut down an 80-foot white pine and truck it to the city.
Volunteers also raised money for the project and decorated the tree.
The lighting ceremony will be a week from Friday.
