Death penalty may be sought in Pa. infant's death

EASTON, Pa. (AP) - December 25, 2010

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli says he will wait for an autopsy report before making a decision in the case of 21-year-old Joseph Urquia of Easton. But he says the death of 11-week-old Joselynn could qualify as a capital case because the victim was under the age of 12.

The child was pronounced dead Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where she had been taken two days earlier with severe head injuries. Urquia was arraigned on a criminal homicide charge the same day.

The Lehigh County coroner's office says more tests are needed to determine the cause and manner of death.
