Unique running club has teenager bonding with seniors

PHILADELPHIA - December 31, 2010

"It's definitely a good way to start the week," said Tori Seidman.

Tori Seidman calls them her "Sunday Men." Every Sunday for the past few years, she's been running with her grandfather and his running club. She's 17.

"I think the youngest is 64, and the oldest is 73," said Chuck Muchnick.

But while there is a generational gap, they all share the love of running and staying fit.

During their 4 mile runs, her Sunday Men talk about everything from running to family, travel, problems, and their health.

"Other than our problems with our prostate and other thing," said Manny Pokotilow.

But all kidding aside, Tori says she's learned a lot about life and about the value of friendship. Plus, it's brought her closer to her grandfather.

"I mean everyone is close with him in different ways, but this is just one way that I get to bond with him," said Seidman.

And while she's faster than the rest of the group, she hangs back.

"When I stop for whatever reason, she stops and waits for me," said Muchnick.

Still the men say she brings extra energy to the group, and some days keeps them going.
