"The concept is to bring in customers, to introduce them to our place," explains Nina Sparta of the Spa at the Sporting Club at the Bellevue. "We offer massages and facials at a $50 charge, which is more than half less than our regular charge."
Sparta is both a massage therapist and esthetician, who demonstrated the "action retraction" Swedish massage and the 50-minute facial that they're offering at the special Spa Wellness Week price of $50.

Sparta explains, "Some locations might offer body treatements, accupressure, also yoga, pilates, differernt type of things like that."
And though many people skip splurges like spa treatments when money's tight, Sparta says this is a time when treating yourself can be especially important.
"It's when you really need a massage or a facial even more," she says.
