3 displaced, cat dies in Del. house fire

Fire officials say three people have been displaced in a two-alarm house fire in Wilmington.

The fire was reported about 8:20 a.m. Monday in the 1800 block of Shallcross Avenue. Firefighters arrived to flames shooting from the rear of the two-story semi-detached brick house. The fire spread to the exterior of the attached house.

The residents escaped without injury, but a cat died in the fire. Two adults and a child were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
