The Tiffin Drive-In Theater has been operating since 1949. The previous owners of the Tiffin Drive-In Theater, Norman and Ferne Barr, are pleased that the drive-in will continue serving the movie-going public.
The Saunders family will make repairs and re-open under the name "Field of Dreams Drive-In Theater -- Tiffin". "If the weather cooperates, we plan to be open for business by Memorial Day weekend," added Donna Saunders.
Denton Saunders, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Saunders, will be the on-site manager of the newest Field of Dreams Drive-In Theater location. Denton is a student at BGSU and has five years of drive-in theater management, projectionist and food service experience.
"We opened our first drive-in theater because we recognized a need for family-friendly and reasonably priced entertainment in rural communities with limited other entertainment options," said Donna Saunders.
"Parents and grandparents are bringing their children and grandchildren to our drive-in theaters to share quality time together. The movies shown on the big screen are an added bonus," states Rod Saunders.
Pricing will be consistent with the original Field of Dreams Drive-In Theater location in Liberty Center, Ohio -- $7 for teens/adults ages 13-64, $4 for children ages 5-12 and senior citizens over the age of 65. Children under 5 are always free with an accompanying parent.
Customers can purchase food prepared on-site or bring in food with the purchase of a $4 'outside food pass' sold at the box office.
The movie listings will be available in the Toledo Blade Movie Listing Guide, online at www.FieldOfDreamsDriveIn.com, numerous smart-phone apps such as Flixter and also via a toll-free phone number: 877-343-5334.
