Around 8:50 a.m. police were dispatched to a residence on the 2200 block of Marsh Road, after receiving a call that a female subject was armed and was intending to harm herself.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the woman, and received no response.
A perimeter was set up around the home, and nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution.
Shortly after noon, a special response team made entry into the residence and found the victim with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, however no foul play is suspected.
Marsh Road in between Grubb Road and Chestnut Road was closed during the time but has since been reopened.
