Investigators say the victim, 19-year-old Aiesha Holloway was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers say that at about 3:00 a.m., on Monday, Holloway was sitting inside a car on the 3400 block of Joyce Street near Atlantic Street in the Port Richmond section of the city.
That's when at least one gunshot was fired.
Witnesses saw a man running from the car shortly after the gunfire.
There's no word on whether the man was inside or outside the car at the time of the shooting.
