The discovery was made on Tuesday in the 700 block of E. Westmoreland Street near the Ascension of Our Lord Church and School after officers received an anonymous tip.
There, they found the corpse of the five-month old puppy.
A necropsy was performed showing the pit bull mixed-puppy had multiple health problems and lacked medical care.
