The U.S. Attorney's office wants a judge to revoke the bond of former Inspector Daniel Castro and send him immediately to jail. A hearing is set for Tuesday on the request.
Castro called himself a victim in interviews and held up photographs of the informant and a former business associated whom he was convicted of trying to extort out of $90,000. Authorities say Castro planned to use violence to recoup the money as part of a failed real estate deal.
Prosecutors say Castro's actions since his sentencing indicate a pattern of threats that show he should be jailed immediately rather than on November 15.
