Man mistakenly shot by Philadelphia cop

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - November 10, 2011

The shooting happened around 5:00 p.m. in the 6000 block of Christian Street in Southwest Philadelphia.

Police responded to that location for a 911 call for a reported burglary.

The responding 18th district officer shot a man in the arm.

That man, identified as Steven Moore, turned out to be the resident.

Moore was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

No officers were injured.

Police are investigating, and they're trying to determine is the origin of the 911 call because it did not originate from the home.
