Cabbie faces traffic violations in AC hit and run

ATLANTIC CITY - December 4, 2011

The deadly incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. Saturday on 1300 block of Pacific Avenue near Ocean Avenue.

Authorities say 88-year-old Bu Do Jo was initially struck by a taxicab, which fled the scene, prior to being struck by a jitney.

The taxicab driver, identified as 53-year-old Jean A. Sene, was stopped a short time after the accident. He has been charged with Title 39, traffic and motor vehicle, violations.

Police say no criminal charges have been filed at this time.

An autopsy on the victim was completed today, which confirmed the cause of death to be multiple traumatic injuries.

Action News obtained exclusive surveillance video which showed the impact of the jitney striking the victim.

The video also showed that traffic kept moving after the horrifying accident as people gathered on the sidewalk as the scene developed.

The Jitney Association tells Action News a camera on its bus captured the moment the taxi struck the woman with its front right bumper throwing her into the middle of the street before getting hit by the bus.

Bu Do Jo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was reportedly heading home from church when the incident occurred.

Friends and neighbors set up a memorial of flowers and teddy bears at the location where she was killed.

The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
