It was shortly after 11:10 p.m. Thursday when as many as four men confronted the clerk at Riggins Gas Station, located at 100 John F. Kennedy Way.
During that confrontation a shot rang out and the clerk suffered a gunshot wound to the hand. The suspects grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. Medics transported the clerk to Cooper Medical Center in Camden for treatment. Police say he was shot through the hand and bullet then traveled into his shoulder. His injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
The suspects involved were all wearing black clothing and fleeing on foot down JFK Way toward Genesee Lane and remain at large.
Police say there are surveillance cameras in the area and are checking now to see what may or may not have been captured.
