The Bradford Era reports Monday that 19-year-old Larry Shroyer Jr., of Bradford, was arrested Sunday afternoon for the attack shortly before 7 a.m. that day at the Hotel Holley.
Online court records don't list an attorney for Shroyer, who is charged with aggravated assault and other crimes for allegedly hitting 56-year-old James H. White, of Buffalo, some 18 times with a hammer or similar object in a hotel room. White was taken to an Erie hospital where officials did not release his condition.
Police say a woman witnessed the attack and that officers found blood-spattered clothes like those she described Shroyer wearing when they arrested him at a home in Bradford shortly after noon.
