Father: Son's murder prompted by Facebook feud

WILMINGTON - January 24, 2012

Larry Parks, Jr. was gunned down in broad daylight Saturday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the 300 block of New Castle Avenue in Wilmington.

Larry Parks, Sr. says he knew words were exchanged through social media, but his son never felt threatened.

"He was having fun. I guess this other person or whosever involved, he wants to take it somewhere else; that's what he did, for no reason. He's gone. He's gone," Parks, Sr. said.

The 17-year-old from Bear was a student at Pencader Charter High School.

Counselors were brought in today to talk with Parks' classmates.

Wilmington police are still searching for the shooter.
