Pa. man claimed to be 'mad scientist' at hospital

UNIONTOWN, Pa. - April 11, 2012

Nobody answered the home phone of 37-year-old Jerry Wingrove, of Uniontown, on Wednesday and his public defender did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press.

Uniontown Hospital police tell the Herald-Standard newspaper that Wingrove was confronted while wandering on the second floor of the hospital shortly after noon Tuesday.

Police Lt. Randy Leichliter tells the newspaper Wingrove pushed a nurse when he was told he had to leave the hospital. The police did not immediately return a call seeking additional information on what may have motivated Wingrove.
