Police were called to an apartment building in the 4100 block of Edgely Road in the Wynnefield Heights section around 4:00 a.m.
Investigators on the scene early Monday morning told multiple media outlets, including Action News, that a blind woman was the victim of a home invasion and that her dog used a special device to contact 911.
However, authorities later called Action News to say that, in fact, the circumstances of this incident are still under investigation, and the details remain unclear.
The victim, a 54-year-old woman, was said to have suffered neck, back and shoulder injuries.
