Officials tell Action News a man was walking his 75-pound pit bull terrier near Columbus Avenue and Fire Road in Egg Harbor Township at about 5:00 p.m.
The dog took off chasing a rabbit and became trapped in a large drain pipe.
Rescue crews responded and worked for about two hours to free the animal.
The dog was not injured and was reunited with its owner.
