The shooting took place around 11:20 p.m. in the unit block of Clyde Street in the Belvedere community.
Crews arrived to find a 28-year-old man lying in the street and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to Christiana Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
There is no word on suspects or a motive in the shooting.
