The robbery happened just before 2:00 a.m. at the Hess gas station on the 1400 block of Admiral Wilson Boulevard.
Police say the attendant was outside sweeping when he was approached by the suspect who then hit him on the head with a weapon.
The suspect made off with an undetermined amount of cash.
The victim was treated at the scene and is expected to be okay.
Police are viewing the surveillance video for answers.
