Power failure takes out 3 NJ Transit lines

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - November 2, 2012

NJ Transit spokesman John Durso Jr. says a backup generator failed overnight at the center in Kearny and couldn't be restarted. Switching equipment was affected.

Service that had been set to restart Friday is suspended on the North Jersey Coast, Raritan and Main lines. Buses will cross-honor rail passes.

But Northeast Corridor service into New York is running.

Special schedules are being posted at New Jersey transit.
