It happened at 11:49 a.m. Thursday on southbound Route 141 where the road crosses over I-95.
A report from the scene says the driver of a tractor trailer was struck and killed after he got out of his truck.
His name has not been released.
Police say the striking vehicle was stopped by officers a short distance from the scene.
Southbound Route 141 was shut down for about three hours while police investigated.
